It
is that time of the year again for Fencing at Tama! Here we
got together to try a new game called "Mug Fighting".
In this game, you play in a free for all style, trying to
kill your opponent. However, if he still has water in his
mug, he walks to the sidelines, where the Marshal puts him
back into the battle. So, the trick is to hit your opponents
mug first, spilling the water. That way, when you kill him,
he can't come back into the battle. It is a very good 'Tip
Control" exercise. First we circle our blades...

|
|
Then
we take 5 steps back...then "On Guard!.......Lay On!"..........

Here
I face off against "Hiro" a Japanese fencer. He
spent some time at the University of Hawaii studying Theatrical
Fencing.
|
I
make a poke at Alan's mug, while he pokes at mine. You are
not allowed to put the mug behind your body, cover the top
of it, or hide it behind your hand.
